public, by event and appointment
COMPANION is proud to present an exhibition of works in painting, collage, ceramics, textiles, and printmaking on view at the 2024 Indiana Global Economic Summit then open to the public on view at COMPANION. Winding Accord features six contemporary, Indiana-based artists: Su A Chae, Stephen Creech, Mailinh Hồ, Hannah Paz-Westbrook, Israel Solomon, and Julie W. Tourtillotte. Presented together for the first time, the artists’ distinct practices address labor, individual and collective identities, evolving ecologies, and new technologies. Their traditional art forms set a familiar stage for embracing far more curious and experimental explorations. In their own way, each artist harnesses the transitory nature of convention and course. Collectively, they illuminate the precarious, bountiful, and humbling pursuit of future harmonies.
In alignment with Professional Practices for Art Curators in Nonprofits, all artists, curators, and art handlers involved in the production of this exhibition received W.A.G.E. (Working Artists and the Greater Economy) compliant compensation for their cultural labor and contributions.
Curated by Braydee Euliss, Director of COMPANION. Presented for the 2024 Indiana Global Economic Summit in partnership with GANGGANG and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
